New Delhi: Pakistan surprised the cricketing world after beating Australia on their own turf in a three-match ODI series on Sunday. Mohammad Rizwan was appointed as the new skipper of the Pakistan team which hasn’t been at its best of late, but against Australia, it was pure magic. The Kangaroos didn’t just surrender an ODI series to Pakistan at home for the first time in 22 years but also scripted a dubious record.
No Australian batter could score a half-century in the three-match affair against Pakistan which is for the first time ever that they didn’t hit a fifty in a bilateral series. Many star players were given rest for the third ODI in Perth and one of them was their skipper Pat Cummins. It has come forth than when Pakistan were pummeling Australia in Perth on Sunday, Cummins was attending a Coldplay concert with his wife Becky in Sydney.
Cummins’ wife Becky shared the photo of them both on her Instagram story with the caption – “Excitement levels are high!”

Australian media’s reaction
The Australian media was not very kind to Cummins as the photo quickly went viral on social media and started making noise. Sydney Morning Herald wrote a piece titled “Why Cummins was at Coldplay while Australia were smashed” and The Australian printed a piece on the incident with the title “Cummins’ concert jaunt a cold start to summer.”
Apart from the media, former Australia skipper Michael Clarke also raised his concerns over the decision by the team management to rest key players in the third and final ODI, a move that later contributed to Pakistan clinching a historic series win. On the Big Sports Breakfast, Clarke voiced his frustration as he questioned why the team preferred to rest those players over a chance to secure the series.
“I’m just a bit confused. With 11 days between now and the first Test, why can’t the Aussie boys who are part of this Test series play in the one-dayer?” Clarke asked about resting Cummins with Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Steven Smith, and Marnus Labuschagne.
