New Delhi: Team India would be eyeing a clean sweep when they take on England in the third and final ODI match in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. The Men in Blue, after emerging victorious in the T20I series, maintained their fabulous run in the 50-over winning both the ODI matches in Nagpur and Cuttack, sealing the series 2-0.
In what came as good news for India, skipper Rohit Sharma finally roared back to form in style in the last ODI match with a scintillating century. The skipper played a pivotal role in India’s fight against the English side along with Shubman Gill, who has been a consistent performer for the side. Rohit, who faced a lot of criticism for his form, would want to continue his run in the final match as well which will serve as the last preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy.
Rohit on cusp of big record
A hundred in the last game against the Three Lions has pushed Rohit Sharma’s chances of completing a big milestone in the final ODI against England on Wednesday. Rohit needs just 13 runs to complete the milestones of 11000 runs in the 50-over format. His current tally stand at 10987 runs. If he achieves this record, he will also become the second-fastest to the big milestone.
Star batter Virat Kohli holds the record after he reached the landmark back in 2019 in his 222nd innings. Continuing his form is also essential as far as the CT2025 is concerned as the Men in Blue would be in dire need of some good performances from him.
Meanwhile, star power Kohli on the other hand 89 runs shots of the 14000 run-mark in the 50-over format. Kohli also has a chance to become the fastest to this landmark in terms of innings taken. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record, which he made back in 2006 in his 350th innings and Kohli has played 296 innings till now.
Veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are on the cusp of achieving big milestones in the 50-over format during the third and final ODI against England on Wednesday. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
