Significance of National Sports Day
The National Sports Day is celebrated on August 29 every year to mark the birth anniversary of Major Chand. It is the day when the legacy of India’s greatest hockey player is celebrated. The day also marks huge importance as it helps in celebrating awareness and importance of sports and physical activities on our lives. The National Sports Day was established back in 2012 by the Government of India to remeber the contribution of India’s greatest sportsperson.
