New Delhi: Former Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh has expressed his deep appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for recognising his efforts in the world of hockey. This comes after PM Modi wrote a heartfelt note for the former Indian hockey player congratulating him on his bronze medal victory at the Paris Olympics 2024 and his eventual retirement from the game.
PM Modi in the letter addressed to the Indian hockey star also recognised the immense sacrifices made by his family to enable his on-field exploits. In his letter, PM Modi praised the former hockey player his valuable contributions to Indian hockey over the last 15 years years and also appreciated his reflexes and calm confidence under pressure.
After the bronze medal winning campaign, the retired hockey star, along with his family, met the Prime Minister in his office. PM Modi termed the meeting as a pleasant experience and also hailed their efforts over the years that helped him emerge as a star in the international hockey arena.

In his reply on Wednesday, Sreejesh thanked PM Modi for his kind words and encouragement. He also assured the PM that he will continue to serve hockey Indian in the best possible manner and thanked PM Modi for showing faith in him.
