New Delhi: Following on from a thrilling Premier League Saturday, the electrifying weekend of Premier League action continued with a mix of dominant displays and hard-fought battles on Sunday before the headline clash between Manchester City and Liverpool. Chelsea cruised past Aston Villa with a commanding 3-0 victory at home, showcasing their attacking prowess. Ruben Amorim had a lot to cheer for in his first Premier League match at Old Trafford as his Manchester United side demolished Everton 4-0 in a statement win at Old Trafford, reigniting their push for consistency.
Meanwhile, Tottenham were held to a tense 1-1 draw by a resilient Fulham side, as the North London club struggled to capitalize on key chances. This weekend underscored both the brilliance and the resilience of several teams. Chelsea’s attacking fluency, United’s resurgence, and Fulham’s defensive grit were highlights, while Aston Villa’s struggles, Everton’s defensive lapses, and Tottenham’s missed opportunities raised concerns. Here’s a closer look at how each match unfolded in an action-packed round of fixtures.

Ruben Amorim is enjoying his start to life as Manchester United boss as he earns his first Premier League win and did so in excellent fashion. The new boss made his debut with a 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town and faced another struggling team in Everton in his home league debut. Amorim showed faith in struggling young forward Joshua Zirkzee and handed him a rare start in a position that suits him well and the young Dutchman repaid his boss’ faith.
United’s attack was on fire tonight as they ran riot against Everton with Zirkzee scoring a brace against the Toffees along with another Manchester United forward who was struggling before the Portuguese’s arrival, Marcus Rashford. United dealt in braces as in addition to the goals corers, both Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes completed a brace of assists each to complete the Red Devils’ dominant win.

Chelsea have a long standing connection with Italian coaches and it seems like we’re seeing another one building in front of our eyes. Gianluca Vialli, Antonio Conte, Roberto Di Matteo and the best pick of them all, Carlo Ancelotti, could all be joined in the list by current manager Enzo Maresca if he keeps up the way his side were playing. Chelsea were up against a haywire Aston Villa team and they left no stone unturned in completing a commanding win over the Villans, keeping the first home clean sheet of the season along the way.
Nicolas Jackson got his team underway, as he has done so often this season, with an early goal that set the platform up for the win. The 23-year-old executed a smart finish to put his side 1-0 up inside the opening 10 minutes of the game. The Blues doubled their lead almost 10 minutes before halftime as Cole Palmer set up Enzo Fernandez for a wonderful strike as the Argentine continued his rich vein of form. Palmer then turned from provider to scorer for the third as he curled an exquisite shot from outside the box to wrap up the three points for his side.

Where the two other big six teams produced dominant performances on the night, Tottenham failed to match that outcome as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by London rivals Fulham. Spurs nearly capitalized early when a defensive error by Calvin Bassey allowed Heung Min Son a chance in the opening moments of the game, but Bernd Leno’s quick save kept Fulham in the game. The hosts struggled to maintain their rhythm, with James Maddison striking the post from a free kick.
After a tense first half, Brennan Johnson finally broke the deadlock ten minutes into the second half, volleying home a Timo Werner cross to give Spurs the lead. Fulham responded swiftly, leveling the match through a thunderous strike from Tom Cairney with 20 minutes remaining. However, Cairney’s night turned sour when he was sent off for a reckless challenge on Dejan Kulusevski, leaving Fulham a man down for the final moments. In typical Tottenham fashion, just a week removed from thrashing defending champions Manchester City in their own backyard, Spurs fail to beat Fulham at home.
Ruben Amorim had an excellent outing at home as his Manchester United side thrashed Everton while Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea earned a comfortable home win as well. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
