New Delhi: Keeping the excitement of the Premier League alive as it makes way for the FA Cup for the weekend, the English top flight has announced it’s winners for the month of January. As January brought the second half of the Premier League season into full swing, these accolades celebrate the best managerial performances, outstanding players, breathtaking goals, and crucial saves that defined the first month of the new year.

With title races, top-four battles, and relegation struggles intensifying, January witnessed some brilliant individual and team performances. From Bournemouth stealing the spotlight on the field and during the month’s awards to some history being created with this month’s winners, here are the Premier League’s award winners for January. The two teams that dominated the form table in January, have also dominated the monthly awards.

Barclays Manager of the Month

Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for January, marking a remarkable achievement in his second season in England. Iraola guided the Cherries to an unbeaten run in January, securing crucial victories and pushing Bournemouth into the fight for European qualification. The Cherries were unbeaten in four out of four games this month, extending their club record unbeaten run in the league to 12. They had some standout victories in their big, including  4-1 demolition of Newcastle United, a dominant 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, and a hard-fought 1-0 win against Everton.

They could’ve made it four wins out of four but were denied by a last minute Reece James free kick in their 2-2 draw with Chelsea. Under Iraola, Bournemouth displayed attacking brilliance, defensive resilience, and tactical flexibility, making them one of the in-form teams of the month. The Spanish boss edged out Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, and Newcastle’s Eddie Howe for the award. While Howe, Arteta and Guardiola led their teams through strong performances, it was Bournemouth’s rise under Iraola that made him the deserving winner.

EA Sports Player of the Month

Bournemouth’s second award of the night was scooped up by one the most inform players in the league currently, Justin Kluivert. The Dutchman has been named Player of the Month for January after a series of electrifying performances that helped the Cherries maintain their unbeaten streak. The Dutch winger was at his best, scoring crucial goals and proving to be a nightmare for defenders throughout the month. Kluivert contributed five goals and two assists in January, including a stunning hattrick in Bournemouth’s 4-1 victory over Newcastle and a goal in the 5-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest.

His ability to take on defenders, his finishing prowess, and his creativity made him the standout performer, earning him his first ever Player of the Month award. He became only the second Bournemouth player to win the award after Dominic Solanke won it last season. He beat out City’s Phil Foden, Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, teammate Dean Huijsen, Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo. While all had strong months, Kluivert’s impact on Bournemouth’s remarkable run set him apart.

Guinness Goal of the Month

Bournemouth secured the treble for the month of January as David Brooks’ stunning strike against Everton was voted as January’s Goal of the Month. In a closely contested game that seemed to be heading towards a draw, Brooks produced a moment of magic, latching onto a Milos Kerkez cross in the box and unleashing a deftly placed left-footed volley past Jordan Pickford in goal. The goal was a perfect blend of technique, power, and accuracy, leaving the Everton number one helpless. Brooks’ winner helped Bournemouth secure all three points in a match where clear chances were hard to come by.

His goal edged out competition from Bournemouth teammate Justin Kluivert’s hattrick grabbing goal against Newcastle, Cole Palmer’s stunning opener against Crystal Palace and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s first Everton goal in months. Callum Hudson-Odoi’s long-range curler in Nottingham Forest’s 3-2 victory over Southampton, Iliman Ndiaye’s brilliant solo goal vs Spurs, and Dejan Kulusevki’s chip in the same game were others that missed out on the award.  While several goals were worthy winners, Brooks’ spectacular effort deservedly takes home the prize.

Premier League Save of the Month

Newcastle’s Martin Dúbravka has won the Premier League Save of the Month award for his outstanding reflex stop against Wolves in their 3-0 victory. The Newcastle goalkeeper made a breathtaking reaction save to deny a point-blank shot from Jorgen Strand Larsen, showing lightning-fast reflexes to keep his clean sheet intact. His brave stop deflected the ball onto the post before it was cleared away by Lewis Hall, eliminating all the pressure and denying Wolves a foot into the game. Dúbravka’s heroics ensured Newcastle maintained their momentum in the game.

His save showcased elite shot-stopping ability and composure under pressure.He beat out strong competition from Matz Sels palming away a Strand Larsen effort, Christian Walton finger tips save to keep away Joao Pedro, and Dúbravka’s own point blank save against Southampton. Arsenal’s David Raya, and Leicester’s Jakub Stolarczyk both missed out on the award as well, despite making crucial saves in their respective games. Dúbravka’s incredible save, which demonstrated world-class goalkeeping reflexes, made him a worthy winner for January’s award.
