New Delhi: Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu recently revealed how her love story with her now-husband Venkata Datta Sai began after the duo’s chance meeting on a flight. Sindhu recently tied the knot with the Hyderabad-based businessman in an intimate wedding ceremony in Jodhpur which was attended by several notable celebrities and politicians from across the country.
Sindhu, a double Olympic medallist and one of the most successful Indian shuttlers of all time, revealed it was love at first sight for her after she met Sai on the flight and that everything felt right as their relationship blossomed. Sindhu recently took to social media to share pictures of her wedding with Sai where the couple were seen all smiles, enjoying the rituals and the ceremonies.
In an interview with Vogue, Sindhu revealed her love story with Sai started in October 2022 when the couple ‘reconnected’ on a flight. They gelled well together and there was no looking back as their love story blossomed, eventually leading to a fairytale marriage. While Sindhu is one of the most decorated Indian shuttlers, Sai is the executive director of Posidex Technologies, a Hyderabad-based IT firm.
“Everything changed when we reconnected on a flight,” PV Sindhu told Vogue.
“That journey brought us closer, and it felt like the stars aligned. It was almost like love at first sight, and from that moment on, everything just felt right,” she added.

Sindhu and Sai got engaged in a private ceremony attended by the near and dear ones of the couple. The star badminton player revealed their engagement was a close-knit affair as they only wanted people who truly mattered to them. Sindhu said her engagement was an emotional moment for him and something that she would cheer forever.
“Our engagement was a deeply intimate affair, attended only by those closest to us. It wasn’t about grandeur, but about celebrating this milestone with the people who truly matter. The moment was emotional, meaningful, and something we will cherish forever,” Sindhu added.
After their engagement, the couple got married in a royal wedding ceremony in Jodhpur. The wedding took place at the Raffles Udaipur Resort, a five-star country-mansion style resort. Meanwhile, the wedding ceremonies took place at three historic places in Udaipur, Lake Palace, Leela Palace and the Jag Mandir.
