Mumbai: Cafe Mysore, founded in 1936 by Rama Nayak, stands as a cornerstone of Mumbai’s culinary scene, celebrated for its authentic South Indian cuisine. Later, co-founder Nagesh Rama Nayak transformed Café Mysore into the iconic establishment it is known as today.
The Ambani family also visits this popular South Indian quick-service restaurant in Mumbai’s Matunga as it is one of their favourite eateries in Mumbai.
Recently, the Ambani family warmly welcomed Shanteri Nayak, the current owner of Café Mysore in Matunga, expressing gratitude for her presence at the wedding reception of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
In a video capturing the moment, Anant Ambani introduced Radhika to Nayak, emphasising their appreciation for Cafe Mysore’s cuisine.
Radhika acknowledged Nayak, thanking her for attending the festivities and mentioning their tradition of enjoying food from the restaurant, every Sunday. Anant expressed his gratitude as well, and the family members, including Anand Piramal and Shloka Mehta, showed their respect by touching Nayak’s feet, a gesture of admiration and honour in Indian culture.
