New Delhi: Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s highly anticipated wedding ceremony on July 12, 2024, was a grand affair in every aspect. From A-list Bollywood celebrities participating in the baraat processions to international stars dancing to Bollywood tunes, it was truly the wedding of the year. The bride, Radhika Merchant, looked stunning in a traditional Panetar lehenga for her wedding, but it was her vidai lehenga that captured our hearts.

This masterpiece of rich artistry was designed by Manish Malhotra and styled by Rhea, along with Shereen and Sanya Kapoor. The multi-panelled Banarasi lehenga in sindoori red was complemented by a blouse featuring real gold karchobi work, inspired by the traditional abho and the rich heritage of Kutch. The ensemble also included a brocade lehenga skirt, a silk dupatta, and a veil, echoing the artistry of the late 19th century.
Radhika Merchant’s vidai look
Draping expert Dolly Jain collaborated with Rhea to create this breathtaking look, while Hiral Bhatia and Loveleen Ramchandani handled Radhika’s hair and makeup. Radhika accessorized her look with a choker, layered diamond and emerald necklace, matching earrings, kadas, haath phool, and maang teeka. For her vidai ceremony, Radhika opted for subtle makeup and adorned a gajra jooda to complete her look.
Radhika completed the ensemble with a Banarasi silk dupatta and a veil featuring a lattice design, both immersed in real gold embroidery and Resham work, which she draped over her shoulders and arms. She added a final touch to her vidai look with a veil featuring a massive train draped over her head.
The wedding celebration of Radhika and Anant Ambani took place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The ‘Mangal Utsav’ or wedding reception will be held on July 14th.
