Rahmat Shah’s bizarre run-out dismissal in AFG vs SA 3rd ODI goes viral – WATCH

New Delhi: Afghanistan batter Rahmat Shah was involved in a bizarre dismissal during the third ODI against South Africa in Sharjah on Sunday. The dismissal isn’t seen so often in the sport making it a rare kind of way to send the batter back to the pavilion. South Africa ultimately capitalised on their performance and bagged a consolation win by seven wickets to end the three-match ODI series 1-2.

Despite South Africa winning the game, it is the instance of Rahmat Shah’s unfortunate dismissal that is making the noise on the internet. The video of him getting run out in a strange manner has gone viral where some fans aren’t able to hold their laughter while some are highlighting the bad luck in play for the senior batter.

The dismissal occurred due to a deflection and Rahmat had to depart for a score of just one facing six balls. Having opted to bat first, Rahmat was at the non-striker’s end with Rahmanullah Gurbaz taking the strike and Lungi Ngidi was bowling the ninth over. During the penultimate delivery which was a full-length one, Gurbaz drove it back to Ngidi and the pacer tried catching it with his right hand but could only manage to get his fingertips, which further deflected the ball towards Rahmat.

The ball then hit the non-striker on his body and went back to hit the stumps. It wasn’t Rahmat’s fault as he barely had any time to react as he turned back but was well short of his crease when the bails came off. This led Afghanistan to get reduced to 38/2 in nine overs, putting them in early trouble.
