Heavy rain, thunderstorms lashed various parts of Hyderabad on Thursday afternoon including in Hayathnagar, Vanasthalipuram, LB Nagar, Nagole, Chaitanyapuri, Gaddi Annaram, Dilsukhnagar, Koti, Abids, Nampally, Malakpet, Begumpet, Malkajgiri, Chandrayangutta, Charminar among others.
Low-lying areas were flooded and motorists faced severe difficulties. GHMC Disaster Management Teams rushed to the spots and began relief operations.
As per independent weather expert T Balaji, rain in Hyderabad is ‘done and dusted’ for Thursday and only some drizzle is expected towards the evening. Similar weather conditions are expected to prevail till June 17.
Scattered rain was also observed in Suryapet, Khammam, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Jangaon, Warangal, Hanmakonda.
Minimum temperature has gone below 25 degree Celsius at many places and the lowest temperature was recorded in Medak at 22 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Southwest monsoon has covered the entirety of Telangana on Wednesday, IMD said. It is set to cover more parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and light to moderate, moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning is likely over the next three days.
