Thiruvananthapuram: In a move to embrace transformative technologies, Kerala Government is holding a two-day international Gen AI conclave in Kochi, on July 11 and 12, in collaboration with IBM.
The event, to be hosted at Lulu Grand Hyatt Bolgatty International Convention Center, Bolgatty, Kochi, will bring together industry leaders, policymakers and innovators to explore the transformative potential of AI and its impact on society and the economy. This event will be a significant milestone in the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Kerala and the Country.
“The International Gen AI Conclave stands as a testament to Kerala’s commitment to fostering innovation and embracing transformative technologies. With IBM as the Partner, this groundbreaking initiative aims to position Kerala as a hub for Generative AI innovation, catalysing economic growth and driving forward the state’s vision for Industry 4.0 readiness,” said Industries minister P Rajeev.
Industries minister Rajeev said the government aims to transform Kerala as an AI destination through this conclave where around 1,000 delegates are expected to attend.
Holding a grand AI conclave was announced in this year’s budget as one of the most important interventions by the state government in the AI sector.
Speaking on the occasion through videoconferencing, Dinesh Nirmal, Senior Vice President of Products at IBM Software, emphasized the importance of public and private collaboration in scaling generative AI.
“As we enter the next phase of generative AI, cooperative efforts of public and private organizations are essential for rapid progress. We are honored to collaborate with the Government of Kerala to host this conclave,” Mr Nirmal noted.
“This event will help drive generative AI innovation, address business and societal challenges, and foster skill development. By providing access to top-quality tools and knowledge, this is a significant step by the state government to strengthen the talent pool and infrastructure in cutting-edge technology research and development,” he said.
Launching the official website of the conclave here today, Minister for Industries, Law and Coir Shri P Rajeev said the flagship event will shape the future of Gen AI, besides demonstrating Kerala’s commitment to fostering innovation and embracing transformative technologies.
The launch of the website heralds the commencement of a comprehensive digital platform that will serve as the epicenter of information and engagement for the International Gen AI Conclave. Offering detailed insights into the event’s agenda, distinguished speakers, interactive sessions, and registration process, the website ensures seamless access for participants keen to be part of this transformative gathering.
As the Conclave gears up to welcome a diverse array of attendees, including developers, business leaders, universities and students, media and analysts, government officials, IBM clients, its partners etc., anticipation is high for the dynamic exchange of ideas and insights that will shape the future of AI in India.
