New Delhi: Veteran industrialist Ratan Tata, the chairman emeritus of the Tata group, passed away at a Mumbai hospital late on Wednesday night. With the passing away of Ratan Tata, the attention has shifted towards the next generation of Tata heirs – Leah, Maya, and Neville—children of Noel Naval Tata, Ratan Tata’s half-brother. All the three have been quietly associated with the conglomerate and emerging as future leaders.
Noel Tata
Noel Naval is the chairman of Tata International Limited, Voltas Limited, Tata Investment Corporation Limited and the vice chairman of Titan Company Limited. Besides holding the mentioned posts, the half brother of Ratan Tata is a Trustee on the Board of Sir Ratan Tata Trust and Sir Dorabji Tata Trust.
Noel Tata also served as Managing Director at Trent for 11 years. He also served as the Vice Chairman of the company in 2012 and was later elevated to the post of Chairman in 2014.
Maya, Leah, and Neville have been making their way into the group like other professionals.
Leah Tata
Leah Tata is the eldest amongst the three. She was born to Noel Tata and Aloo Mystry.
Leah did her Master’s in Marketing from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. In 2006, she got associated with the Tata Group as an assistant sales manager at Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces. At present, she is the vice president at The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL).
Maya Tata
Maya Tata joined Tata Group’s Tata Capital as an analyst. She completed her studies at Bayes Business School and Warwick University. She has been associated with Tata Opportunities Fund, Tata Digital, and Tata Neu App.
Neville Tata
Neville Tata kickstarted his journey with the Tata Group at Trent, the retail chain their father helped build. He heads Star Bazaar under Trent Limited. He is married to Manasi Kirloskar. Importantly, Leah, Maya Neville were appointed as trustees of five Trusts – affiliates of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trusts.
