New Delhi: Determined to end their Indian Premier League duck, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have assembled a star-studded squad at the mega auction.
They bought players for every department and weren’t shy to splash the cash. Hence they bet big for explosive batters Phil Salt (Rs 11.50 crore), Jitesh Sharma (Rs 11 crore) and Liam Livingstone (Rs 8.75 crore).
They then balanced it out with the acquisition of pacers Josh Hazlewood (Rs 12.5 crore) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Rs 10.75 crore) and Rasikh Dar (Rs 6 crore). RCB also shelled out Rs 5.75 crore for experienced left-arm all-rounder Krunal Pandya after retaining Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal ahead of the auction.
They bought six players on the first day of the auction, and entered Day 2 with a purse of Rs 30.65, which was the most among all the 10 franchises. Pandya was their first player to be bought on the second day
