New Delhi: After nearly two months of intense action, 9 days of a suspension and a host of enthralling encounters, Gujarat Titans (GT) became the first team to qualify for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday, May 18. Shubman Gill-led GT defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 10 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi to move to 18 points and secure their berth in the playoffs.
Gujarat Titans’ win against Delhi Capitals also helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) to confirm their spots in the playoffs this season. Both RCB and PBKS qualified by the virtue of having 17 points each after 12 matches. While GT are at the top of the IPL 2025 points table with 18 points after 12 games, RCB and PBKS hold the 2nd and the 3rd spots, respectively.
