New Delhi: Team India defeated Bangladesh by 280 runs in the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The opening match of the series was played on the red soil pitch, which offered extra pace and bounce for the fast bowlers on initial days.
In the first innings of the opening Test, the Bangladeshi pacers troubled Indian batters with extra swing and bounce and as a result, The Men in Blue lost their 6 wickets for just 144 runs. Jadeja and Ashwin stitched a 199-run partnership for the seventh wicket and helped India to post a good score. Bangladeshi fast bowler picked up 9 wickets in the first innings.

Pitch for the Kanpur Test
As per reports, The pitch at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur will be flatter and the ball will come nicely on the bat for the first two days of the match. The bounce on the surface will be much lower than Chennai and the pitch will slow down as the Test match progresses.
This will happen due to the black-soil content in the Kanpur pitch. The slower nature of the surface will also change the team’s strategy for the second Test and the third seamer could likely be replaced by a third spinner. That means one of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel could get a chance to play in the match.
In the last Test played at this venue, Team India played with three spin bowlers Ashwin, Jadeja and Axar against New Zealand. It was the first Test match played in Kanpur since 2016, which also was against the Blackcaps. Both matches lasted for five days, New Zealand batters showed great resistance in 2021 to draw the match in 2021 while India won the 2016 Test comfortably.
