New Delhi: South African batter Reeza Hendricks pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Philip Salt during his side’s Super 8 clash against England in the T20 World Cup 2024 at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia on June 21, Friday.
The dismissal took place in the second over of England’s innings after they opted to bowl first. Kagiso Rabada bowled a full delivery and lured Philip Salt into an aerial drive but Reeza at cover took an outstanding catch. The ball flew to his left and he managed to time his leap and made a tough catch look easy.

South Africa defeated England by 7 runs and continued their unbeaten run in the T20 World Cup 2024. England needed 14 runs off the last over but Nortje did a fantastic job in the last over gave away just 6 runs and also picked up a wicket. Chasing the target of 164 runs, England top orders batters failed to score runs but a 78-run partnership between Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone took them close to the target but they fell 7 runs short of the target.
Earlier, South Africa scored 163 runs in 20 overs. Hendricks and Quinton de Kock provided a great start to their team and stitched an 86-run partnership for the first wicket. de Kock scored 65 runs off 38 balls, his remarkable knock was laced with four boundaries and four maximums. David Miller also scored 43 runs off 28 balls but other South African batters failed to contribute to the team’s total as England bowlers made a great comeback in the second half of the innings.
