Indiana: A 29-year-old man from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, Gavin Dasaur, was shot dead in Indiana, USA in an alleged incident of road rage.
The deceased, who had just got married, was shot in front of his wife who is now demanding a thorough investigation.
29-Year-Old Agra Man Shot Dead in US in Road Rage Case
The incident took place on July 16 when Gavin Dasaur who was newly-married, was coming back from a mall with his wife of Mexican descent and his sister.
A pickup truck overtook their bike and cut them off which caused their motorcycle to veer off the road.
Gavin then chased the truck and stopped it; the driver laughed at him which further escalated the situation.
Suddenly, the driver took out a gun and shot Dasaur with three bullets; he succumbed to his injuries.
Wife Demands Thorough Investigation, Family Seeks Justice
In a statement, Gavin Dasaur’s wife demanded a thorough investigation and also demanded death penalty for the driver of the pick-up truck.
Seeking justice for their son, Gavin’s parents are heartbroken; his mother was also in the US at the time of the incident because he had gotten married a few days ago.
His father alleged that this is a case of road rage and the police did not arrest the accused, even when he was present in front of them after the accident.
Gavin’s father also requested the Indian government to engage with the US authorities and work towards preventing racial discrimination and violence against Indians.
