Lewandowski joined the list of players with a century of European Club goals – Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo leads the list with 140 goals in 183 games for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus while Messi has netted 129 goals in 163 matches for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. The Polish star has a long way to go in order to catch either of them but it’s still impressive what he has achieved being reunited with Hansi Flick.
The 36-year-old required 125 matches to achieve the feat, two more than Messi (123) and 12 fewer than Ronaldo (137). Lewandowski’s scoring rate of 0.8 goals a game is slightly better than Messi and Ronaldo’s career marks. He has played in every Champions League after 2011-12. The Polish star has netted his first 17 goals from Borussia Dortmund, adding another 69 goals for Bayern Munich, and has netted 15 goals for the Catalan giants so far.

After the match, Lewandowski reacted to his achievement and said, “You have to dream always, and I didn’t believe that I could be scoring more than 100 goals in the Champions League and today I am here so I can be proud [of] myself and also for the team.”

Defying age with stunning performances
There is no sign of stopping, the 36-year-old is aging like a fine wine and with every passing game is showing that he still has plenty left in the tank. The former Dortmund striker has scored 22 goals in just 19 matches across all competitions this season, scoring nine more than any other La Liga player, including an impressive tally of 15 goals in 14 league appearances, proving his dominance in Spain.
What’s remarkable is that Lewandowski is already closing in on last season’s total of 26 goals, which he achieved in 49 matches for Barcelona. When examining Europe’s top five leagues, his name consistently stands out. Since his arrival at Dortmund from Lech Poznan in 2010, Lewandowski has become the third-highest scorer across La Liga, Bundesliga, Premier League, Serie A, and Ligue 1. His 368 goals place him behind only Lionel Messi (408) and Cristiano Ronaldo (385).

Impressively, he is more than 100 goals ahead of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane who sits at 263, followed by Luis Suarez with 248. Lewandowski’s brilliance is even more apparent post-30. Since celebrating his 30th birthday on August 21, 2018, he has netted a staggering 188 goals in Europe’s top five leagues, leading the chart for players aged 30 and above.
Kylian Mbappe trails with 166 goals, while Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, and Mohamed Salah round out the top five. His performances in the Champions League also highlight his longevity. Of his 91 goals in the competition 55 have come since he turned 30 which is second only to Ronaldo, who has 68 goals in the same age bracket.
Lewandowski’s achievements aren’t just a testament to his talent but also to his dedication proving that age is no barrier when excellence becomes a habit.
Robert Lewandowski has achieved an extraordinary feat, becoming the third player ever to net 100 goals in the UEFA Champions League, joining the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
