New Delhi: India men’s team captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir have returned to India following the recent victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. While the two prominent members of the triumphant team didn’t travel together as both made way back to their respective homes. Rohit arrived at the Mumbai airport and Gambhir landed in the national capital (Delhi) at the IGI airport.
Rohit received a huge shout when he came out of the captain from the rapturous crowd, which was eagerly waiting for the 37-year-old to show up. The senior Indian player donned in a black T-shirt with a blue cap above his head. He had to be escorted outside the airport by the security personnel.

The crowd kept shouting his name until the point he reached his car and left from the airport. He did wave back at them to acknowledge their support while the yellow barricades were put in between to prevent fans from proximity near the player.
Even coach Gambhir arrived home with a bunch of supporters cheering his name and reporters thronged around him. Gambhir was too wearing a black t-shirt.

India defeat New Zealand to win Champions Trophy after 12 years
The Indian team won its third Champions Trophy after getting the better of New Zealand in the final by four wickets. Varun Chakravarthy (2 for 45) and Kuldeep Yadav (2 for 40) bowled brilliantly to help India set a target of 252. Rohit led from the front by scoring 76 runs from 83 balls. The middle order was vigilant with Shreyas Iyer (48*), Axar Patel (29), and KL Rahul (34*) taking the team past the finish line.
This was India’s third Champions Trophy triumph after winning the tournament in 2002 (joint-winners) and 2013.
Following India’s Champions Trophy victory, captain Rohit Sharma received a jubilant welcome at Mumbai airport, while coach Gautam Gambhir enjoyed a similar reception in Delhi.
