India become new T20 World Cup champions
India became the new T20 World Cup champions after beating South Africa in the final in Barbados. India became only the third team after West Indies and England to lift the T20 World Cup title twice. India won their maiden T20 World Cup title under the legendary MS Dhoni in the inaugural edition in 2007.
India brought an end to a 17-year-long wait for their second T20 World Cup trophy last week. The World Cup-winning Indian squad left Barbados on Wednesday and will be arriving back home on Thursday. The World Cup winners are expected to receive a huge reception back home and are likely to be felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
