New Delhi: India defeated England by 68 runs in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 at Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 27, Thursday. Skipper Rohit Sharma scored another half-century in this tournament, scoring 57 runs in 37 balls with a dashing 146.15 strike rate.
Rohit broke the silence on Virat Kohli’s form in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Kohli was dismissed for just nine runs, getting bowled out by Reece Topley. Kohli has only managed to score 75 runs in seven innings so far in which he was dismissed five times on single-digit score.
But the chase master got the backing from his skipper Rohit, who believes that Kohli is saving the best for the last and will definitely be a key in the important final match against South Africa.
“(Kohli) We understand his class. Form is never a problem when you’ve played for 15 years. Probably saving for the final,” Rohit said at the post-match presentation following India’s resounding win over England in the T20 World Cup 2024 semifinal.
Kohli won the orange cap in IPL 2024, but he hasn’t justified his caliber in this tournament so far. Kohli will now get one last chance in the final to prove his worth and can help Men in Blue to end the 11-year ICC trophy drought.
