India ended a 11-year-long wait for an ICC title and the drought, that started after they lifted the 2013 Champions Trophy, finally ended on June 29, 2024. The former Team India head coach, who made his international debut in 1996, went on to play till 2012. However, despite having decorated career, a thing that was missing from his career was a World Cup title.
When India were knocked out for the ODI World Cup 2007, Dravid was at the helm of the affairs and he witnessed it all from a heartache 17 years ago to jubilation in 2024. During his dressing room address after India bagged the trophy, Dravid even revealed that he got a phone call from Rohit, who stopped him from calling it quits after India suffered a heartbreak in the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia.
