New Delhi: A video of Team India skipper Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh has gone viral on social media, sparking pregnancy rumours. Rohit and Ritika are parents to an adorable daughter, Samira Sharma, who is six years old. Some good news seems to be on the card for Rohit and his family as the video suggests he and his wife Ritika are expecting their second child.
In the video that has gone viral on social media, Ritika can be seen at an airport with Rohit and some of their friends. Ritika’s baby bump is quite visible in the video which is captioned ‘Best wishes for Rohit and Ritika’.
Rohit became a father for the first time in 2018 when his daughter Samaira was born in Mumbai. The Hitman was playing for India in a series against Australia Down Under at the time and had travelled back home to be with his family. Samaira’s birth brought a lot of joy to Rohit and his family and their happiness is set to double soon with the arrival of the cricketer’s second child.
Rohit Sharma to miss 1st Test against Australia?
A report in PTI recently claimed that Rohit might miss the first Test of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia. The report has further fueled the pregnancy rumours. Rohit will reportedly miss the first Test to be with his wife Ritika, who is expecting their second child at the time. It remains to be seen who will replace Rohit as captain if he decides to miss the 1st Test against Australia in Perth.
India to lock horns with New Zealand
Rohit will return to action when India take on New Zealand in a three-match Test series starting Wednesday, October 16. The first Test between the two sides will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. India are heading into the series on the back of a 2-0 clean sweep of Bangladesh in their last Test assignment and will be looking to continue their dominance at home in the longest format.
