New Delhi: Team India captain Rohit Sharma was spotted training with assistant coach Abhishek Nayar ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, starting on September 19.
After Bangladesh, The Men in Blue will face New Zealand in a three-match Test series at home in October followed by a five-match Test series against Australia, starting from November 22.
The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has begun his preparations ahead of the busy Test season. The 37-year-old led India in the T20 World Cup 2024 and announced his retirement after winning the title. In the viral video, Rohit can be seen doing some intense cardio drills in a park under the supervision of Nayar, who joined the Indian support staff last month after Gambhir was appointed head coach.

Rohit Sharma is the second-highest run-scorer from Team India in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle 2023-25. He has scored 700 runs from nine matches at an average of 46.66, including three hundred and three fifties.
Team India is currently at the top of the WTC points table with six wins in nine matches while Australian team is in second place with eight wins in 12 matches.
‘It was my dream to transform this team’: Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma recently said that it was his dream to transform the team. He also said that as a team they’ll keep striving for better things in the future.
“It was my dream to transform this team and not worry too much about the stats, the results, to make sure that we create that environment where people can go out there and play freely without thinking too much” Rohit said on CEAT Cricket awards.
“There is a reason I won five IPL trophies. I’m not going to stop, because once you get the taste of winning games, winning Cups, you don’t want to stop and we’ll keep pushing as a team. We’ll keep striving for better things in the future” he added.
