New Delhi: India all-rounder Hardik Pandya turned emotional after listening to Rohit Sharma’s speech at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Thursday evening as India’s T20 World Cup 2024 victory celebrations came to an end. After a hectic day which started in Delhi in the morning, the homecoming for Team India ended with the open bus victory parade which concluded at the iconic cricket stadium.
Rohit, meanwhile, credited Hardik for the title win saying that the all-rounder’s ability to remain calm and cool helped India dismiss David Miller, who the side considered as one of the most dangerous players in the world. Rohit’s speech left Hardik emotional as the player went through a lot on his return to Wankhede, Mumbai Indian’s home in the Indian Premier League.

Rohit also credited him for bowling an exceptional final over in the summit clash against South Africa which powered India to a huge victory. Earlier, a sea of fans had gathered at the Mumbai stadium and on the roads leading to it to celebrate the victorious Team India’s homecoming. People thronged the roads as the blue bus which ferried the stars to the stadium had to navigate through a lot of chaos.
Hardik took to social media site X to thank everyone for these precious moments saying that he will never ever forget these. The all-rounder also thanked the crowd that came out in large numbers to celebrate with the Indian team despite rains.
