New Delhi: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was brutally trolled by a talk show panel featuring Australia legend Adam Gilchrist and former England captain Michael Vaughan over his PR overdrive which was left exposed recently. Rohit was slammed for his PR stunt on social media to save his image following his poor show in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia.
Rohit, who skipped the series opener in Perth due to the birth of his son, managed only 31 runs in the next three Test matches against Australia and was widely criticised by the fans for his horror show with the bat. His poor leadership didn’t help his cause as India lost two out of the three Tests under his captaincy. Rohit was eventually dropped from India’s playing XI for the 5th Test in Sydney, paving the way for Jasprit Bumrah to lead the team.
During a discussion on the Club Prairie podcast on YouTube, the members, including Vaughan and Gilchrist were asked to pick the best team of the season across international and domestic cricket. Ian Higgins of The Grade Cricketer came up with a hilarious response as he said – “Well, it has to be Rohit Sharma’s PR team”. The answer left others in splits with Vaughan nodding in agreement.
The clip of the panel taking a dig at Indian skipper Rohit went viral on social media, becoming a talking point among fans.
“Q. Who was the best team this summer?
