New Delhi: Paulo Dybala isn’t the type of player who requires special treatment, but his frequent soft-tissue injuries are a drawback of his extraordinary skill. The 31-year-old superstar has missed periods every season since moving to Rome three years ago because of a variety of leg issues, such as hamstring strains, bone bruises, and muscular exhaustion, to mention a few.
Roma supporters feared the worst when Dybala hobbled off the ground after just 11 minutes of play against Cagliari last weekend. Dybala has been exceptionally healthy this season by his post-Juventus standards, and he was on track to finish the season close to 2,000 minutes in the league, something he hasn’t accomplished since the 2021–2022 campaign, which was his last season with Juventus.

Although several players who were first deemed out for months have returned in a matter of weeks, Roma fans’ hopes of a miracle recovery were shattered earlier today. Dybala has decided to have surgery to repair the semitendinosus tendon in his left thigh after speaking with the club’s medical experts. Dybala is facing a three-month recuperation process, even if no date has been established (or at least made public). This will essentially conclude his third season with the Giallorossi in 2024–2025.
Earlier today, Dybala revealed the following information on his Instagram account. Prior to the 2025–2026 season, Dybala should be healthy and prepared for Roma’s summer training camp. Expect Matíás Soulé to take over as the club’s creative inspiration while he is away. The Argentine has four goal contributions to his name this season, and can be a great replacement for the Giallorossi.
