New Delhi: For young and passionate football enthusiasts in the country, News9’s Indian Tigers and Tigresses has proven to be the perfect platform, giving them a chance to see their dreams come true. The football talent hunt, which in itself became a historic thing, managed to pick and choose the bundle of emerging talent in football from the nooks and corners of the country.
Beginning with an initial shortlist of 50,000 teenagers, the scouting process pruned to 10,000 talented boys and girls. As many as 16,000 schools took part in TV9 Network’s historic initiative which witnessed eight scouting camps being held across major states in India. From the north to the south, the talent hunt covered all the parts shortlisting 7,000 boys and 3,000 girls finally.
The journey was not easy for the 10,000 youngsters as they had to undergo rigorous trials to prove their mettle of making it big in life and getting an opportunity to train abroad in this tender age. The initiative finally selected 32 kids who will travel to Austria to get further training and an opportunity to polish their dreams of representing India at the international level someday.
What Rudra Ojha dreamt at 8 materialises at 14
For most of the kids like Rudra Ojha, it is a dream come true to get a chance to train under the best and get a further know how about the game. In a country which is surrounded by cricket, 14-year-old Rudra had different dreams and that was to play football and get an opportunity to represent the Indian team. At just 8 years of age, the young boy found his passion for the sport and continued to pursue his dreams with full confidence and focus.
Support from his parents has been unwavering in the last 6 years since he first dream of playing football. From making numerous sacrifices like leaving their settles life behind, his father and mother ensured that his dreams come true and they do not hinder his education. It was Rudra’s father who identified his potential and dared to get him into professional training, which many fathers do not do in the country.
Seeing his reflexes like the speed and skills, professional coaches pushed him to play along with older players so as to raise his confidence and polish his skills. Starting from the state to national level tournaments, Rudra has earned a lot of medals and accolades proving his talent on the field. Now that he has got the opportunity to travel to Austria and train there, he hasn’t altered his schedule and continues with his early morning training sessions and evening drills.
With an opportunity to set onto the international stage, Rudra is carrying the dreams of his family with the hope of being a future football star for India.
