Moscow: Shiveluch Volcano in Russia Erupted after a 7.O magnitude earthquake hit the eastern coast of Russia in the wee hours of Sunday, according to reports, citing TASS.
As per visual evaluations made by experts, the ash from the volcano was rising as much as 8 kilometers above the sea level.
No injuries have been reported in the disaster, meanwhile, lava was released from the volcano.
Shiveluch volcano is situated approximately 280 miles from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a coastal city in Russia with a population of around 181,000. The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was about 55 miles from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of about 30 miles.
However, The Russian Emergency Ministry did not issue a Tsunami warning amid rumors of a potential massive tsunami, following tumors of massive magnitude off the Russian coast.
