Ruud van Nistelrooy leaves Manchester United as Ruben Amorim revamps coaching team

New Delhi: Ruud van Nistelrooy’s brief return to Manchester United came to an end after he was left out of the backroom plans of new manager Ruben Amorim. The Dutchman took on an interim role for United after Erik ten Hag was dismissed, managing three wins and a draw over his four-game spell. While he joined United this summer as an assistant under Ten Hag, the former United striker won’t continue in Amorim’s new setup.

Manchester United acknowledged Van Nistelrooy’s contributions with a warm message in an official statement. “Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contribution and the way he approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford,”.

Ruud van Nistelrooy and three first-team coaches have departed the club with our best wishes for the future.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to United ❤️#MUFC

Van Nistelrooy leaves with fond memories from his five-year playing career at United, during which he earned a place as one of the club’s celebrated strikers.

New manager Ruben Amorim arrived at Carrington on Monday, and although he awaits his work visa to start officially, he has begun meeting club officials. Amorim’s first game in charge will likely be against Ipswich Town on November 24, as he brings in his trusted coaches from Sporting Lisbon, including Emanuel Ferro and Jorge Vital.

Manchester United also confirmed the departures of coaches Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar, and Pieter Morel, all brought in earlier this season under Erik ten Hag’s management. Their arrival at United was rooted in a shared history, as they had all previously worked alongside Ten Hag in the Eredivisie and had followed him to Old Trafford to bring a familiar support structure.

Hake, a well-regarded tactician in the Netherlands, was Ten Hag’s choice to reinforce his high-pressing system, while ten Rouwelaar, a specialist in goalkeeping, had previously worked with Ten Hag during his time managing Dutch clubs. Morel, too, was known for his expertise in player fitness and conditioning, aligning with Ten Hag’s fitness-oriented focus.

Manchester United announced the exit of Ruud van Nistelrooy, expressing gratitude for his contribution as interim manager.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
