New Delhi: Aryna Sabalenka will face Madison Keys in the women’s singles final of the Australian Open 2025 at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Saturday, January 25. Both the finalists are currently on an 11-match winning streak. Sabalenka and Keys qualified for the first major final of the year as two standout players. They both secured titles in the warm-up events before the Australian Open. Sabalenka began her season by winning the Brisbane International while Keys clinched the Adelaide International title.

The World No.1 will aim to become the first woman in 26 years to win three consecutive Australian Open titles, a milestone which was achieved by Martina Hingis from 1997 to 1999. She is in sensational form and has only dropped one set throughout her six matches in the Australian Open. The only setback happened during the quarterfinal clash against Anatasia Pavlyuchenkova, which she overcame to win by 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.

Since clinching her first Australian Open title in 2023, the world no.1 has qualified for the finals of the last five hard-court Grand Slams. She joins legendary players in the Open Era to achieve this milestone, alongside Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Monica Seles and Martina Hingis.

“It’s crazy that I’m in a situation where I have a chance to put my name next to legends. I couldn’t dream about that. It’s going to mean a lot.” said Sabalenka, who is bidding for her fourth Grand Slam title after winning the 2024 U.S. Open. The world no.1 also praised her opponent and said that she is a very aggressive player and she has watched her matches in the Australian Open. Sabalenka also said that Keys is in great shape and it’s going to be a great battle in the final.
