‘My nation, my biggest pride’: Suryakumar Yadav vows to keep Indian flag soaring high on Independence day

New Delhi: On the auspicious occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day, lot of players from the Indian cricket fraternity expressed their patriotism for the nation. Players took to social media sites to wish the entire nation on the occasion, which brings together the entire 1.4 billion people in the country.

From current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar, all expressed their emotions on how they felt when they stepped out to represent the nation for the first time on the cricketing field. India’s T20 specialist Suryakumar Yadav, who also leads the T20 team. also didn’t stay behind on this occasion.

Suryakumar, who is known for his aggressive yet methodical style of play in the shortest format of the game, vowed to keep the India flag soaring high with continuous hard work and dedication. In the small video shared on social media site X, Suryakumar wraps himself with the Indian flag, quoting the post as My nation, My biggest pride.

Meanwhile, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav can make a comeback in Test cricket. The 33-year-old will play for Mumbai in the upcoming Buchi Babu Tournament, which will be held in Tamil Nadu. It is believed that the selectors and the team management have indicated that they were looking at Surya as an all-format player.

Apart from this, the stylish player has also found a place in one of the squads of Duleep Trophy 2024. The tournament,  which will begin on September 5, features a lot of prominent international players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Ruturaj Gaikwad among others.
