New Delhi: The Women in Blue will start their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against New Zealand at Dubai International Stadium on Friday, October 4. Team India is placed in Group A along with New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and defending champions Australia.
After New Zealand, Harmanpreet and Co. will face arch-rivals Pakistan on October 6 and Sri Lanka on October 9 at Dubai International Stadium. India’s last group-stage match will be against Australia at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah on October 13.
Meanwhile, England, South Africa, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Scotland are placed in Group B. The top teams from each group will advance to the tournament’s semifinal.

Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar sent his best wishes to The Women in Blue ahead of their opening T20 World Cup match against New Zealand. In an interview with Star Sports, Indian opener Shafali Varma praised Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and said that she is very passionate about the game and winning the World Cup has always been a dream for her. Shafali also said that Harmanpreet Kaur is a great player and a fantastic captain.
“Harmanpreet di is very passionate about the game. Winning the World Cup has always been a dream for her, and I hope we can make that dream come true. She’s a great player, a great teammate, and a fantastic captain who inspires and motivates us all the time” Shafali told Star Sports.
