New Delhi: Nothing can be more painful for a sports fan when your hero makes you cry in the stands. Something similar happened in the fourth and final T20I match between India and South Africa on Friday after a ruthless shot from Sanju Samson made a female fan cry in the stands. Yes, it was not because of some other reason but just due to a brutal hit from Samson that hit a female fan’s face in the stands.

Samson, who became the first-ever player in the T20I history to smash three centuries in a single calendar year, smashed a shot just after his half-century which created some turbulence in the stands. It was the 10th over of the contest and Samson, who reached his fifty off the first ball with a six, smashed the second delivery giving it the same treatment.

Fan gets hit, Samson apologises

The ball was a bit fuller and pitched on the middle and leg stump and Samson without even thinking blasted it over deep mid-wicket. The lady in the crowd was not looking at the shot and it hit her around the jaw. The female fan started crying and she had to quickly given some ice treatment. Samson also apologised to a girl as he spotted her getting hit.

Sanju and Tilak both remained unbeaten on 109 and 120 runs respectively as the duo also registered a record of highest partnership for any wicket in T20Is (210 unbeaten).

Together, both the players smashed 19 sixes and 15 boundaries as the Proteas were left clueless in front of a lethal power-hitting by the duo. Apart from them, opener Abhishek Sharma gave a quick start to India scoring 38 runs off just 18 deliveries.
