New Delhi: Young India batter Sarfaraz Khan smashed five consecutive boundaries on the third day of the ongoing Duleep Trophy. After India B lost their three quick wickets in the second innings, Sarfaraz took the charge of the innings on his shoulders launching a counter attack from one end. In the 10th over of the contest, Sarfaraz punished bowler Akash Deep ruthlessly.
After leaving the first delivery of the over, Sarfaraz did not stop in the remaining five as he smashed back-to-back boundaries off Akash Depp to destroy the opposition side. Sarfaraz opened up his arms and played through the gully to pick up a boundary in the second ball of the over. On the third delivery, he drove and perfectly placed the ball between the covers.
Sarfaraz registers flurry of boundaries
The fourth ball was an inswinger tried by Akash Deep just to catch the batter by surprise but Sarfaraz kept his wits as he flicked the ball to complete the hat-trick of boundaries. On the fourth ball of the over, Sarfaraz picked up the delivery nicely smashing a off-drive to complete the fourth boundary. The final ball of the over saw Akash Deep try a short length delivery but unfortunately for him, it did not bounce that much and the brilliant batter hit it through the square.

With the India squad for the Bangladesh Tests set to be announced after Duleep Trophy round one, Sarfaraz has this innings to prove his worth in the side. He got his first exposure in an Indian jersey during the England series, which took place earlier this year.
