New Delhi: With 2024 moving into its final quarter, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is also gearing up to pull the curtains down on the year with something special. A few interesting Premium Live Events (PLE) are still to take centre stage and as per a new report, WWE might see the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event before the year ends, with Triple H as the head of the creative department of the company.
The show made its debut back in 1985 on May 11 and soon became a regular fixture under the regime of Vince McMahon, who was its creator. Eventually, the show comprised of episodes that lasted for 30 minutes and lasted till August 2, 2008. The WWE didn’t revive the popular show until now but the report is indeed startling.
According to a report in Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), Saturday Night’s Main Event is set to make a return, and even the company will announce its revival as part of the new deal with USA Network which includes four specials per year on NBC. Even WrestleVotes reported about some “internal speculation” regarding the show’s return to the channel.
WWE is set to announce a live primetime special on @NBC in the next few days. While the location remains unknown, sources say tickets are set to go on sale next Friday.

The WWE Main Event can be said to have taken inspiration from the prime-time show but is quite different from the Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Changes brought in 2024
Earlier this year, ahead of WrestleMania XL, several new changes were brought into the WWE roster. Apart from the fresh deals for television, a new show was also announced under Triple H’s regime. The introduction of Speed was announced in collaboration with “X” (formerly Twitter). While the new add-up does not have a traditional format, it introduced a new title in the WWE.
Ricochet was the first Speed Champion before WrestleMania XL took place. He further lost the title to Andrade. Earlier this week, even a Women’s Championship tournament kickstarted where Iyo Sky defeated Lyra Valkyria and progressed to the next round. A new Women’s champions will soon be announced in the upcoming weeks.
