New Delhi: UFC 312 weigh-ins concluded and we are now just one sleep away from the mega-clash between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis. UFC Middleweight champion Du Plessis will defend his title against Strickland and this will be the rematch between both fighters.
Last time when two fighters collided, Du Plessis defeated Strickland via split decision and won the middleweight champion at UFC 297 in 2024. The South African fighter will be defending his title second time in the UFC.
There have been a lot of word exchanges between both camps and in the final face-off for their rematch clash, Strickland sent a fiery warning to Du Plessis before their bout at UFC 312.
“I can’t wait to get out there and try to shorten this man’s life for you f—— guys. As always, I appreciate you f——, to the f—— death Dutch man!” Strickland stated in UFC 312 weigh-ins.
Du Plessis once again showed his calm and he predicted to finish Strickland and will raise his hand just like he did in the UFC 305 event, which was set up in Perth.
Both fighters have been known for their durability, as most of the fights went to the distance. Strickland went to the distance six times out of his last seven fights in the distance. He is also coming from a victory against Paulo Costa at UFC 312.
Du Plessis finished Israel Adesanya in his first title defense in the fourth round. His bout against Strickland went to the distance and he edged past Strickland to a remarkable victory.
In the co-main event, Weili Zhang will defend his strawweight championship against Tatiana Suarez at UFC 312 event.
