SFA Championships 2024: Vignan’s Bo Tree School continues undefeated run on Day 10

New Delhi: News9’s pioneering talent hunt campaign “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” and Sports For All (SFA) have set a benchmark in the sports grassroots development landscape by acting as a launchpad for the budding sports enthusiasts in the country to shine on the biggest stage.

TV9 Network has tied up with SFA, one of the biggest grassroots sports development platforms in India, for the “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” campaign, a one-of-a-kind talent hunt that focuses on giving opportunities to young boys and girls (age group – 12 to 14 and 15 to 17) across the length and the breadth of the country.

A landmark initiative by News9, from the house of TV9, India’s No. 1 news network, “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” has joined hands with the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, India Football Centre, IFI, BVB, and RIESPO among others, to spot the talented youngsters in the country through a top-class scouting network. The winners will be felicitated in Germany in early 2025.

SFA witnesses another thrilling day of sporting action

Day 10 of the SFA Championships 2024 witnessed another wave of high-energy competition, with athletes diving, striking, and spiking their way to glory. At Gachibowli, carrom stars stole the show as Sahasera Reddy from Birla Open Minds International School pocketed the gold in the U-14 Girls category, while Sahil Pattani from CRPF Public School emerged as the U-18 Boys champion.

The volleyball court saw Vignan’s Bo Tree School continue their golden streak, dominating the U-12 Boys final to secure top honours. In the pool, Shivani Karra from Jubilee Hills Public School made a splash by taking gold in the U-14 Girls 100m Butterfly Stroke, while Jordan Dominic Franklin from Sage International School surged to victory in the U-18 Boys 100m Freestyle.

Other sports kept the adrenaline flowing, with basketball advancing through Round 2 and handball reaching the semifinal stage at Gachibowli. Over at the University of Hyderabad, shooting commenced with U-14 and U-17 categories, while U-14 Girls’ Kabaddi action kicked off at KVBR Stadium.

With five days remaining, Vignan’s Bo Tree School maintains a commanding lead over second-placed DDMS AMS P. Obul Reddy Public School on the leaderboard.

This year’s Hyderabad edition of the SFA Championships features over 23,000 athletes from 920 schools, competing across 22 sports. The Championships continue until October 28th, creating a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and providing an opportunity for schools to lead the medal tally.

The multi-venue competition, in collaboration with TV9 Network’s “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” to inspire, engage, and celebrate young talent across Hyderabad.
