New Delhi: The most awaited debut of the year at Met Gala 2025- Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s arrival at the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. For the much anticipated first look of the Met Gala, Shah Rukh chose a timeless, tailored black suit exuding charm and sophistication. Dressed in a meticulously crafted ensemble by renowned designer Sabyasachi, Khan effortlessly combined classic charm with sharp tailoring, making a bold mark on the most glamourous red carpets.
Sabyasachi Mukherjee envisioned the look as a tribute to Shah Rukh Khan’s global stardom, he went on saying as quoted by Vogue “Shah Rukh Khan is a cinematic legend with an international fanbase. My take on the Black Dandy reflects his worldwide influence — blending classic menswear with Sabyasachi’s maximalist flair. He is a magician, a superstar, an icon.”

Shah Rukh Khan’s debut outfit at Met Gala 2025, saw a striking all-black ensemble, with tailored trousers pairted a wth a long coat over a black shirt for a sharp and crisp look. He elevated the sophistication of the ensemble by adding an extra layer of luxury, incorporating a collection of bold, heavy jewelry that brought an opulent touch to his appearance. The outfit spoke of timeless fashion with extravagant accessories, making it stand out of the ordinary.
The look feautred a floor-lenghth coat made with Tasmanian superfine wool, detailed with monogrammed Japanese horn buttons. The custom made, single-breasted coat had peak jacket flaps, creating a sculpted shape. The black crepe de Chine silk shirt, open at the chest, with tailored superfine wool trousers. A pleated satin kamarbandh at the waist added structure and softness to the bold outfit.

The jewellery worn by actor was also designed by Sabyasachi, layered across his torso, a custom stack of talismanic chains with a crystal-studded pendant shaped like the letter ‘K’ and a diamond star brooch on the lapel. Rings adorned on the finger with Bengal Tiger Head Cane in hand in pure 18K gold and and embellished with tourmalines, sapphires, and diamonds along with an elegant brooch to complete the overall look.
The Mughal-inspired outfit reflect India’s rich menswear tradtions, with a classic mix of colonial-era and modern flair of fashion. The jewelery paired over shirt is a nod to royal portriats of maharajas with gems and pearls – a status of power and confidence.
