New Delhi: The bad phase does not seem to end for Pakistan after they suffered a dismal defeat against England on Friday after going down by an innings and 47 runs in the first Test match of the three-game series at Multan. Pakistan became the first team in Test history after losing a match even after scoring more than 500 runs in the first innings.
After yet another poor show by the Pakistan side, reports started floating on many social media platforms that Shan Masood will be sacked as the skipper of the team. According to Pakistan’s Samaa TV, Masood will be removed as the captain of the team after the culmination of the England Test series. The report even suggests that three candidates have been shortlisted to fill in shoes – Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha.
Pakistan’s loss in all Test matches since Masood taking over
Since Shan Masood took over as the skipper of the side in the longest format in December last year, Pakistan has faced defeats in all the six Test matches they have played. An unprecedented low for the men in Green came last month in September, when they suffered a 0-2 clean-sweep defeat at home to Bangladesh – the first time they conceded a loss to the side.
