Shirur: In a glimmer of hope for the family and the near and dear ones of Arjun and three others who are believed to have stuck under the debris of the landslide in Shirur in Karnataka radar signal was intercepted by the search team. However, the team has not yet confirmed whether the signal that was intercepted was from the lorry that which Arjun was driving.
A 40-member team of the army, NDRF and the fire-force is undertaking a massive search operation to locate those missing using state-of-the-art machinery including metal radars that can detect metals and materials deep under the earth surfaces.
Meanwhile, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) does not have satellite images of the Shirur hill landslide where Kozhikode native Arjun is thought to be trapped. It is learnt that the Indian satellite did not capture any footage of the hill at the time of the massive landslip. Indian satellites captured the area here two hours before the accident and at 6 pm after on the fateful day. Satellites do not capture images from the same location, but they take them alternately by rotating and moving from one place to another.
A 30-year-old lorry driver named Arjun is feared trapped in the debris of the landslide-hit Shirur on July 16th. Though the search operations reached the seventh day, neither Arjun or the truck was detected.
