Chennai: Southern Railway has announced that special trains will be run between Tambaram and Mangaluru to avoid the rush of passengers due to summer vacation.
In a release in this regard, the Southern Railway said “Southern Railway is running various special trains to avoid the rush of passengers during summer holidays. Similarly, special trains are run on festival days and special holidays to avoid crowding. A special train between Thambaram to Mangaluru and Mangalore to Thambaram with 14 coaches will run twice a week from June 7.”
Accordingly, a Special train (car no-06047) leaving Tambaram on the 7th, 9th, 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd, 28th, and 30th June (Friday and Sunday) at 1.55 pm and the next day at 6.55 am at Mangalore in Karnataka.
On the other hand, a special train (06048) departing from Mangalore on June 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, and July 1 (Saturday and Monday) at 12 noon will reach Tambaram at 4.45 am the next day. This train will run till July 1. The special trains will stop at Egmore, Perambur, Arakkonam, Kadpadi, Jolarpet, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Bothanur, Palakkad, Ottapalam, Soranur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur and Kasargod stations.
