New Delhi: Stylish India opener Smriti Mandhana has been named the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Monday.
The India vice-captain enjoyed a record-breaking year in One Day Internationals, scoring the most runs in a calendar year in her career by amassing 747 runs in 13 innings across 2024.
The left-hander batter’s aggregate was the highest among leading run-scorers in Women’s ODIs in 2024, more than Laura Wolvaardt (697), Tammy Beaumont (554) and Hayley Matthews (469).
The seasoned India batter was a class apart from the others in 2024, producing her best against high-quality opponents, scoring big runs in challenging series.
