New Delhi: Market indices operated by the BSE and NSE will remain closed on Monday, June 17, 2024 for Bakri Eid. Apart from this, there will be 10 week-offs in the form of weekends for market indices this month. The stock market is generally closed on Saturdays and Sundays unless the exchanges notify a special session on Saturday to test the emergency preparedness of their disaster response site.

BSE and NSE on June 4
All eyes will be on the BSe and NSe operated indices on June 4, 2024, when the Lok Sabha poll results will be released by the Election Commission of India as it counts the votes cast by citizens across 7 phases. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an interview said that market watchers will have to prepare for a bonanza on counting day since the poll results will lead to a bull run.
CLSA Modi stocks
Prime Minister Modi noted the bullishness in Indian PSU stocks adding that investors have lapped up the stocks of companies that were once considered avoidable under previous governments. the brokerage CLSA has identified a list of 54 stocks that can be dubbed ‘Modi stocks’. These stocks range from Reliance Industries and Bharti Airtel to Mahanagar Gas Ultratech Cement and Ashok Leyland. Among the key stocks, that have also been acknowledged by the PM, are Hindustan Aeronautics.
Overall, the list includes infrastructure and metal stocks, apart from cement and banking stocks. Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports, both companies also given a BUY rating by US brokerage Jefferies for their strong EBITDA performance, have also made it to the CLSA list.
