Mumbai: The Sensex and Nifty soared to hit all-time high levels in early trade on Monday. The indices reacted positively to the outcome of the Exit Polls results which predicted absolute majority for the Narendra Modi-powered BJP in the recently concluded General Election. The Lok Sabha Election Results will be declared on June 4, 2024. i.e. Tuesday.
Nifty 50 jumped past 23,000 and 30-share BSE Sensex crossed the 76,000 mark as the indices opened at a record high today morning. The BSE Sensex was trading at 75,732.21, while the Nifty 50 was trading at 23,083.65 around 9:44 am.
The BSE Sensex went north by surging 2,777.58 points or 3.75 per cent to hit a record peak of 76,738.89 in early trade. The NSE Nifty surged 808 points to hit a fresh all-time high of 23,338.70.
30-Sensex companies big gainers include Power Grid, NTPC, Larsen & Toubro, State Bank of India, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra.
Earlier in the day, GIFT Nifty indicated that Indian equity indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 may green in Green. GIFT Nifty was trading over 500 points indicating a positive start for the domestic indices today.
Meanwhile, Rupee appreciated 42 paise to 83.00 against US dollar in early trade today.
World Markets today
The Asian shares opened in Green and recorded big gains today after a report showing that inflation in the United States. Notably, Wall Street also witnessed a rally.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng jumped 2.7 per cent to 18,560.98; Shanghai Composite index surged 0.3 per cent, to 3,095.63.
Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 was in good position and increased 0.9 per cent to 38,849.65.
Kospi in Seoul surged 1.9 per cent to 2,687.11.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.7 per cent to 7,756.80.
Taiwan: Taiex gained 1.9 per cent.
