Stocks in News Today: Adani Group, IREDA, IFCI, IndiGo, Waaree Energies and more

New Delhi: Indian indices staged a recovery on Monday led by buying in blue-chip stocks such as ITC, HDFC Bank and Reliance Industries. The Sensex on Monday rose 498.58 points or 0.64 per cent to 78,540.17 while the Nifty was up 165.95 points to 23,753.45. From the Sensex pack, ITC, Tech Mahindra, and HDFC Bank were the top gainers while Zomato, Maruti, and Nestle were the top drags.

Here are stocks that are likely to remain in focus on Tuesday, December 24, 2024:

Adani Enterprises: The flagship company of Adani Group acquired MRO services provider Air Works valued at Rs 400 crore. The acquisition was made by Adani Defence Syste,s and Technologies.

IFCI: The Centre said it plans to infuse Rs 500 crore into the company in a bid to improve its financial health.

IndiGo: The budget carrier’s parent was selected by Oman Air as its general sales agent which will make the former responsible for the sale of flight tickets, cargo and airline products.

Indian Oil: The oil marketing company said it was probing allegations of alleged kickbacks offered by a US-based specialty chemicals company, Albemarle Corp.

Ireda: The state-owned company sanctioned loans worth Rs 3,000 crore for green energy projects across Odisha, said CMD Pradip Kumar Das.

L&T: The construction major secured a Rs 5,000-10,000 crore order from the defence ministry for supplying K8 Vajra-T Artillery Platforms to the Indian Army.

PVR Inox: The cinema chain operator announced structural changes to name Shalu Sabharwal as its leader of initiatives for the media business.
Wipro: The IT giant on Monday named Ranjita Ghosh as global chief marketing officer effective February 1, 2024. She will succeed Laura Langdon who will move on to explore career opportunities outside Wipro.

Sterling and Wilson: The renewable energy major received a Rs 1,200 crore order for the design, engineering, procurement and construction of a balance of systems which will be used in a 500 MW solar PV project to be set up in Gujarat.

Waaree Energies: The company’s board gave its nod for a Rs 130 crore capital expenditure plan to set up an inverter business and Rs 850 crore investment towards manufacturing facilities for electrolyser and storage cells.
