New Delhi: Indian indices lost more than 2 per cent value in 2 days as the combined market cap of the Sensex plunged more than Rs 13 lakh crore. The Sensex on Wednesday declined 984.23 points to 77,690.95, while the Nifty was down 324.40 points to 23,559.05.
Continued selling by FIIs, a 14-month high inflation reading for the month of October and muted second-quarter FY25 earnings exerted downward pressure on the benchmark indices. FIIs sold shares worth Rs 3,024.31 crore on Tuesday. Here are stocks that are likely to remain in focus on Thursday, November 14, 2024:
AstraZeneca Pharma India: The pharma company reported a 27 per cent decline in Q2 profit to Rs 38 crore from Rs 52 crore during the same period a year ago.
Brigade Enterprises: The realty company reported an 11 per cent jump in Q2 net profit to Rs 118.98 crore from Rs 133.50 crore in the year-ago period.
Kalpataru Projects International: The construction company received orders to the tune of Rs 2,273 crore for its Transmission & Distribution vertical, both in India and abroad, according to an official statement.
Kalyan Jewellers: The jewellery chain operator reported a 3.37 per cent dip in Q2 net profit to Rs 130.32 crore compared to Rs 134.87 crore during the same period a year ago.
NBCC: The property consultancy company secured an order worth Rs 263 crore from the Income Tax Department in Kanpur for the construction of Pratyaksha Kar Bhawan.
PFC: The power sector financier decided against sanctioning loans to the Shapoorji Pallonji Group citing its aversion to “high-end exposure”, the company’s CMD Parminder Chopra said.
PNB Housing Finance: Foreign banks Morgan Stanley, Societe Generale and one more entity on Wednesday purchased 6.82 per cent shares combined in PNB Housing Finance via open market transactions. The entire stake was valued at Rs 1,664 crore.
Reliance Power: The company reported a jump in Q2 net profit to Rs 2,878.15 crore compared to a net loss of Rs 237.76 crore in year ago period following the demerger of a subsidiary which led to one-time gains of Rs 3,230.42 crore, it said in an exchange filing.
Tata Communications: The Tata Group company inked an agreement to sell its unit, ATM operator Tata Communications Payment Solutions, to Transaction Solutions International India (TSI India) for Rs 330 crore. The deal will be finalised subject to regulatory nods.
Tata Power Renewable Energy: The company said it had commissioned a 126 MW floating solar project in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh worth Rs 596 crore for NHDC.
Thermax: The company reported a 25 per cent jump in Q2 profit to Rs 198 crore from Rs 159 crore in the year ago period. The compoany reported a 70 per cent jump in its order book to Rs 3,353 crore.
Vodafone Idea: The telco reported a Q2 net loss of Rs 7,175.9 crore, down from Rs 8,746.6 crore in the year-ago period. The telco’s average revenue per user recorded significant growth during the period under consideration.
Wockhardt: The pharma company’s Q2 net loss narrowed to Rs 16 crore from Rs 73 crore in the year ago period.
Zaggle Prepaid Ocean Services: The SaaS fintech platform’s Q2 net profit rose 3X to Rs 20.3 crore from Rs 7.62 crore in the year-ago period, according to an exchange filing.
