New Delhi: Indian indices tanked nearly 1 pr cent on Thursday, a day after the US presidential poll results settled and concerns around President-elect Donald Trump’s policies arose. The BSE Sensex was down 836.34 points, or 1.04 per cent, to 79,541.79, while the NSE Nifty was down 284.70 points, or 1.16 per cent to 24,199.35.
Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra, and UltraTech were top drags while SBI was the only gainer on the 30-share Sensex. Investors also turned jittery ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s meeting on monetary policy scheduled late on Thursday. Here are stocks that are likely to remain in focus on Friday, November 8, 2024:
Brigade Group: The realty giant stated that it plans to develop a mixed-use project worth Rs 800 crore in revenues in Chennai. The comoany has inked a Joint Development Agreement for the project, it said in an exchange filing.
Brookfield India REIT: The company revealed plans to raise nearly Rs 3,500 crore via unit issuance to institutional investors. The move is aimed at debt reduction, the company said.
IHCL: The hotel company’s Q2 profit rose 3X to Rs 582.71 crore from Rs 178.97 crore during the same period a year ago, according to an exchange filing.
INOX India: The company said it had received an order for the supply of 5 specialised cryogenic tanks for an upcoming Liquid Air Energy Storage (LAES) project in Manchester, UK, to Highview Power.
NHPC: The hydro-power project construction consultancy’s Q2 net profit declined 37 per cent to Rs 1,069.28 crore from Rs 1,693.26 crore in the year-ago period. The company took a one-time hit of over Rs 500 crore related to the settlement of contractors” claims under the Vivad se Vishwas 2 Scheme.
Macrotech Developers: The realty giant said it has acquired Bain Capital’s stake worth Rs 307 crore in entities related to 3 industrial and logistics parks. The acquisition will boost the group’s rental income, it said in an exchange filing.
Mahindra & Mahindra: The automaker’s Q2 net profit rose 35 per cent to Rs 3,171 crore from Rs 2,348 crore in the year-ago period.
Shyam Metalics and Energy: The company’s Q2 net profit was down 55 per cent to Rs 216 crore owing to a one-time Rs 328 crore adjustment of deferred tax assets. However, the company reported a healthy growth in revenues to Rs 3,634 crore.
SJVN: The Central PSU was directed by Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar to give its final response on 3 power projects in Himachal Pradesh by January 15, 2025. The response is elicited on alleged non-compliance with royalty payment rules in the hill state.
Tata Consultancy Services: The IT giant has secured a 3-year contract from European airline group Air France-KLM to aid the latter’s transition to a cloud-native company, according to a regulatory filing.
Tata Power: The company said it plans to invest Rs 550 crore towards the development of solar and wind power capacities, as well as related infrastructure for clean energy supplies to Noida International Airport, according to an exchange filing.
