Sumit Nagal outplays seasoned clay court player
Olivo, who is considered as a seasoned player on the clay court, failed to showcase his prowess against the Indian opponent. His experience was just restricted to the opening set of the game, where he dominated Nagal clinching it 7-5. In the next two sets, the game saw a U-turn with the local hero and clay court specialist being pushed on the back foot by Nagal.
In the second set, the Indian was more consistent with his serves and also looked more accurate with respect to shots. Nagal pushed Olivo against the wall with his fierce forehands and backhands claiming the set 6-1. Nagal maintained the momentum in the third and final set and came up in a more dominant way. He completely outplayed the Argentine opponent not giving him a single chance to bounce and score and ultimately won the set 6-0.
Sumit Nagal, who has been in a fine touch recently, will look to continue his winning run to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the event.
